Wood scouting
In order to offer special pieces it is necessary to research well for the right material. Wood is as wonderful as complex to work with, and on our small island it is not always easy to get hold of first quality.
For special planks we research and travel personally. Which is adventurous, risky and not always easy, but the reward is working with wonderful planks that tell a story…
For example of huge oak trees in the north of Germany that fell with a storm but were too big so that nobody would manage to get it away from the field… thanks to wood fanatic colleagues who don´t give up and save it from firewood we got some of it finally to Mallorca.
Or bavarian carpenters with direct connections to the forest owers who help us getting crown planks in dimensions of nearly 2 meters width and store it for us for careful air drying.
Turning these impressive pieces of nature into unique tables is deeply gratifying. Meeting people who share this appreciation even more.
