Public project: a driftwood bench next to the sea.

  • We live and work on a Mediterranean island. Environmental protection of the sea is a topic in our lives.

  • Besides running a company, the creative process and social meaning of craft also gets us moving!

  • The mayor (in 2019) of our home village village supported our project idea to build and install this contemplation spot.

A project based on creative restlessness and playful caring about what surrounds us.

It presents a photography by the local visual artist Salvador Llinàs on its’ backrest. The picture forms part of the series “Vulgarment, Algues”, which treats as a topic the contamination of the sea; specifically the necessary protection of “Poseidonia”, a kind of seagrass that on Mallorca protects beaches and the ground from erosion and forms habitat for many species.

The base is a driftwood trunk from the nearby Mediterranean coast, where the bench now found its’ place. The backrest is made of reclaimed beams from a townhouse of the village of Calonge, where our workshop is located.

We would like to think that we created a meeting point and place for contemplation for anybody who finds a moment to have a break!
